The Summit is an independent, content-based website focused on outdoor gear reviews and field notes. We publish hands-on write-ups of footwear, packs, shelters, and the equipment that helps people get outside and stay there.

What we publish

We cover trail running shoes, backpacking kits, overland rigs, and everyday carry. Articles are written from real testing — long runs, multi-day trips, and workshop tinkering — not from press releases.

How we work

There are no user accounts, no purchases, and no subscriptions here. We may use affiliate links, which means a small commission if you buy through them; this never affects what we recommend. The site is run by an individual publisher, not a company.
